I actually gathered all these pictures together like... 3 months ago, but sort of forgot all about posting... >___>
Anyway, the year started out with a photoshoot at Loch Haven park, which Miko wanted to check out for doing a possible photoshoot with some friends for Megacon. It was fun wearing my ninja girl again, and sort of inspired me again to want to make some more original costumes.
Megacon marked the first con of the year. I made Sokka, which involves a very horrible process of attempting to put on makeup and staying up til 6 in the morning making parkas.
I also wore Edgeworth, with a new sexyfine wig, which came in very handy when taking many sexyfine pictures with Cassie.
For JACON, I sported a new, super sexy suit I chanced across in a Ross for Edgeworth. I also made Edgeworth's totally official artwork uber gay pink pajamas to wear with Risky Business!Phoenix for the Yaoi PJ Party. I rewore Reno for the casino event, which seemed extremely fitting and I got to have lot of fun acting in character. I also made my very first Tamaki outfit, from the WcDonald's episode, and took a photoshoot in the World's Biggest McDonalds.
We had ourselves an Avatar photoshoot where I rewore Zuko. I started to feel like I was definitely becoming a pro at doing the scar makeup, since I actually wound up doing it on the car ride to the shoot, in the back seat.
Nikki surprised Miko and I by buying us the blue blazers for the normal Host Club outfits, which was a total surprise, since we all had never planned on doing so.This was SUCH a fun photoshoot, I still can't believe we somehow wound up with THREE different photographers, and we got SO many awesome pics from it! :) And it's pretty funny, considering how many times we wound up wearing the blue blazers after this.
Metrocon wound up not being a good con for taking pictures, as proven by the above selections, one of which was a progress picture taken in my bathroom (lol). This was actually the first time I got use of my Robin wig, which I think I actually had about a year before this. I do want to cosplay her more though, I really liked how the makeup came out.
I also wore Mori instead of Tamaki (so that CA could wear Tamaki as she ran events for the con). I did wear Tamaki for Friday' night's dance, sporting a mudkip mask, but I never actually got any pictures of me in it.
AFO was pretty laid back, costume-wise, since I just rewore Blue Blazer Tamaki. Planning-wise was a lot more stressful, since we planned our Ouran panel, which was a full hour event that was a HUGE success and was really encouraging for us to want to do more events in the future.
Laina and I have been wanting to throw pirate party for years, and were happy to finally get the chance to do so for a joint BDay party. I wish I had gotten some nicer pictures of the outfit, which I really liked how it came out. I burned the edges so that they wouldn't fray and would look more "pirate-y", and Lindsey helped me cover a straw hat and sew it into a pirate hat. I definitely want to wear this to a photoshoot sometime to get some more pictures. :)
While preparing for AWA, the girls and I had some rather epic sewing parties at my apartment, which was free for almost 2 weeks while my roommates were on vacation. The nights were full f staying up til 6 in the morning, making bad jokes while watching every single movie of our childhood, and powerful stuff like Play-Doh Mudkips and eating a lot of fucking cereal.
Well, all the hard work definitely payed off, since I was able to make four new costumes for AWA, all of which I totally loved. Maki was awesome because I've always wanted to make a school girl uniform costume, but wasn't able to find anyone that I wanted to cosplay as, until Miko and I watched Airmaster. Our Ouran waiter outfits were a pretty epic adventure, since we made them all in one night via Chinese Sweat Shop-style.
My Mudkip Lolita was a surprising hit, I couldn't believe how many people actually recognized me at the con. The costume itself was a great achievement, definitely the best costume I made in 2007. It was my first time making a corset, stitching ribbon with a sewing machine, and dying a wig with the alchohol/Sharpie method. I also drafted all the patterns for the skirt and wierd lolita arm things. Overall, I am REALLY proud of this outfit, despite its internet origins. :D
I got to cosplay with Meredith for the first time, which was really awesome, since she is a total sweetie. I made Blue Spirit Zuko, which I think looks pretty sharp, even if the outfit is SUPER hot. I still want to remake the mask, though...
Misha followed me and Laina's example and had a Wizard themed party to celebrate his birthday. I was rather happy with the "Wizard-chan" that I whipped up in about an hour and 15 minutes from random shit in my room. : D
I had 2 different outfits for Halloween time. By far the best one was the Dr. House one I made for my friend Steve's party, and I wound up going downtown wearing it and scaring several people there. On the actual day of Halloween, we went trick-or-treating in our Avatar outfits, since they were definitely the most recognizable and would be liked by any kids that watch the show.
The year ended rather epically with Anime South, which was somewhat expected, considering the epic nature of the Anime South from the year before. I made two new outfit, Young Snape, to wear with Meredith's Lily, and Winter Akihiko. Unfortunately, our Persona group wasn't as epic as it was supposed to initially be, but I did have a lot of fun being a complete faggot with Cassie and Miko.
All the costumes I did were really fun to be in, and I wasn't stressed out about them at all. I got to cosplay for the first time with Veronica, who made an awesome and rather voluptuous Angel Starr, be faggots with Cassie, do some power-cosplaying by wearing Christie, Maki AND Snape all on Saturday, and then got to wear Sokka again, which was a vast improvement due to better makeup and ton of sluts for Sokka to pimp. :D
